Grandpas Funeral

This sweet man passed away July 25th, 2015. He was the best grandpa, and the best example. He taught me patience, love, hard work and so much more. I don't think anyone will ever realize the example and role model he was to me. I am grateful for the close bond we shared and from all the many memories he gave me. It will be different going to Utah and not being able to go see grandpa. I am glad I have the knowledge that families are eternal and that one day I will get to see him again. For now I have this wonderful guardian angel guiding me day by day.

Here is his Obituary
Reed Junior Naisbitt
March 19, 1934 ~ July 25, 2015
Junior, 81, passed away peacefully after a four year battle with cancer.
He was born in Ogden, Utah to J. Reed and Lois Palmer Naisbitt. He grew up in Hooper where he attended Hooper Elementary, Hooper Jr. High and graduated from Weber High.
Junior grew up with a love of horses, cattle, and rodeos. He was well known for the horses he trained, his cattle business and riding bulls in the RCA and PRCA Rodeos. He rode bulls at top rodeos throughout the U.S.A., including Madison Square Gardens in New York, where the finals were held at that time. Twenty years of riding and participating in rodeos he became a gold card holder of the PRCA.

On August 13, 1959, Junior married and was sealed to his dream girl, Myrene Hunter in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. They were blessed with six children: Clint (Shellie) Naisbitt, Lori (Jay) Jones, John Lee (Dawn) Naisbitt, Vicki Rendon, and Terri (Brian) Douglas. His heart was broken when his beloved wife, Myrene, was killed in a car accident on November 20, 1983.

He truly loved each of his 17 grandchildren. He loved attending their various activities. He was also thrilled with each of the 7 great-grandchildren.

After Myrene’s death, he met Brenda Fulmer who became a companion and business partner to him. Her children are Kendra (Troy) Blackner, Dena (Korky) Blackner, and 10 grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, John and sister, Diana (Larry) Davis. He was preceded in death by his sister, Janean and a daughter, Sherri.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, August 3, 2015 at the Hooper 1st Ward Chapel, 5601 South 6100 West. The family will meet with friends on August 2nd from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South and Monday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.
